Turning the Mind into an Ally for Teens

A day-long introductory meditation retreat for teenagers.

Join us in Brookline, MA at the Boston Shambhala Center (www.shambhalaboston.org) for a one-day workshop exploring the technique of meditation. Learn all the elements for a strong practice: good sitting posture, how to relate to the breath, and what to do when thoughts come up.

In his recently published book, Turning the Mind into an Ally, Sakyong Mipham describes how the mind can settle, clarify, and become strong and flexible through the practice of meditation. We will study these teachings in context--working with emotions, suffering, and open-heartedness in everyday situations. Learning to be present uncovers our natural vibrancy and insight. The workshop explores how the practice of “calm abiding” enables us to uncover our inherent wakefulness and discover the delight of being human.

Saturday's program runs from 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM
