Just wanted to post this conference here in case you are interested to attend.
Buddhist Women's Conference 2009
I thought I also post this supportive email here as I am begining to create some interest among engaged Buddhists around the collective intention project on Deep Conscious Capitalism

Subject: Re: Application From SusMita Barua (Ist draft)
Dear Susmita
On behalf of the Buddhist Council of the Midwest Women’s Conference committee I would like to thank you for applying for the Women and Engaged Buddhism Award, but must inform you that this year’s award is granted to Rev. Kalen McAllister, Sensei of Shinzo Sangha, St. Louis, MO, and Executive Director of Inside Dharma, for her efforts on behalf of the Missouri prison population to gain recognition of Buddhism as a religion by that state’s Department of Corrections and initiative in starting a non-denominational program to serve the spiritual needs of incarcerated Buddhists and other programs to help reintegrate prisoners back into society.
We received several applications this year, all for very worthy work. While it was a joy to learn of so many Buddhist women engaging their compassion into action, however, it did make choosing whom to bestow this year's award a difficult task.
We were very impressed by your project; and urge to continue both your good work and to join with us in congratulating the award recipient.
We encourage you to consider renewing your application in the future.
Yours in the Dhrama,
Marianne Solome
Vice-president Buddhist Council of the Midwest .

As I am planning to lead my first retreat I cannot attend the conference. If you do attend this one or any other engaged Buddhist conference please let us know about it and your experience.
