You normally wouldn't think of the high tech world as being a spiritual universe but, in the case of Bob Thurman, he absolutely fits the bill. I did some research and found his 12-minute talk to the TED Conference in Monterey, a gathering of many of the most brilliant minds in the tech world. If you can forgive the brief commercial plug at the beginning of the video, you'll hear from Thurman, the first American to be ordained a Tibetan Monk by the Dalai Lama. He's got a very peaceful style, as you might imagine, and is worth listening to. Here's the link http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/130
I guess that there are many different ways of talking about love. Is love really inter-existence or is it recognition of the loveability of another who is not oneself? One could talk about it either way and, either way, there would be problems. Still, it's all about our ability to love, it's limits, and Buddha's love for us - don't you think?
